Through my educational and professional experiences & community feedback, I resonate deeply with the following issues:
EDUCATION
As a university graduate and Master's student myself, I understand the important role education has in the development of our members and the collective community. I want to ensure we as a community continue to promote our members to strive for excellence in trades, post-secondary and other educational opportunities. 46% of our Musqueam members are under the age of 29, and education will be important to ensure our leaders of tomorrow are ready
ADVANCING BETTER GOVERNANCE
As noted within our Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) update in 2018, our membership feels their voices are not adequately being heard by governance. As a first-time candidate with a fresh new perspective on governance, I will always work under the principles of community engagement and consultation
FINANCIAL SELF-SUFFICIENCY
In my undergraduate Business & Economics degree and throughout my Masters of Indigenous Community Planning program, I've attained knowledge on sustainable community-based economic development. Using my knowledge, I will continue to push our community's dedication for financial self-sufficiency while protecting our lands/environment
